Brooklin to and from Pearson Airport

Brooklin is the neighbourhood where the 407 ETR route makes the biggest difference. The village sits north of the 401 in upper Whitby, and the Highway 412 connector is right on its eastern edge — giving Brooklin drivers direct access to the 407 toll road without touching the 401 at all.

Heading to Pearson (YYZ), most drivers leave Brooklin via Baldwin Street or Anderson Street, pick up the 412 northbound, and merge onto the 407 westbound. The toll highway carries you through Markham, Richmond Hill, and Vaughan with minimal congestion, then connects to Highway 427 southbound or Highway 409 — both of which feed into the Pearson terminal ramps. Total distance is about 72 kilometres, and the drive typically takes 55 to 65 minutes.

Outside of rush hour, the 401 route is a reasonable alternative. From Brooklin, the driver heads south on Thickson Road or Baldwin Street to the 401 westbound on-ramp and follows the same corridor as downtown Whitby. The 401 is faster on weekends and late at night, but during weekday afternoons the 412/407 combination is almost always the better call.
